Living wage for mothers & other carers
Include in the People's Agenda the RISE Out of Poverty Act and A Living Wage for Mothers & other Caregivers
Proposal from the National Welfare and Caregiving Working Group
INCLUDE in the PEOPLE’S AGENDA
The RISE out of Poverty Act and
A Living Wage for Mothers & other Caregivers
Every worker should be paid a living wage, including mothers and other caregivers. Caring for others is the foundation of every society, yet this work is devalued and underfunded. Investing in caregivers redirects economic and social policies towards survival, health and wellbeing -- for every individual and for the planet that sustains us all. This is crucial to creating a caring economy at the service of human beings rather than human beings at the service of the economy.
The PERSPECTIVE of CARING: A Q&A on caring, the vital human
relationship that ensures survival and well-being, the international petition to get a living wage for this work, the origins of this demand and who supports it.
