Webinar – Myanmar military: never in fashion
On the eve of the 1st anniversary of the military coup in Myanmar, we will launch an international statement in support of a call from All Burma Federation of Trade Unions (ABFTU) and the Federation of General Workers Myanmar (FGWM), issued on 3 September 2021, for international brands to cease all production in Myanmar. The dictatorship must be forced to step down. They have murdered, raped and tortured thousands of women, children and men who have been resisting the military takeover. The support statement has been drafted by Global Women’s Strike and No Sweat together with the Industrial Workers Federation of Myanmar (IWFM) and has been endorsed by unions and organisations around the world. The list of signatories will be released on the day.
Time: 1-2pm GMT
